:)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4943575454776138049.post-11892492346908401772009-08-01T22:13:27.958+04:002009-08-01T22:13:27.958+04:00Cool!Cool!Nikolaichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04484137147832850459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4943575454776138049.post-38428891081909692742009-08-01T20:44:00.856+04:002009-08-01T20:44:00.856+04:00Once I came across "Fifteen rules for gooder ...Once I came across "Fifteen rules for gooder English". Here they are:
Don't use contractions.
Be specific. More or less.
Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement.
And don't start a sentence with a conjunction.
Remember to never split an infinitive.
Always avoid alliteration.
Proofread carefully to see if you words out.
Never use a long word when a diminutive one will suffice.
Everyone should be careful to use a singular pronoun with singular nouns in their writing.
One should never generalise.
start every sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop
Don't never use double negatives (they're a no no).
Who needs rhetorical questions?
A preposition is a terrible word to end a sentence with.
Last but not least, avoid cliches like the plague. They are old hat. :))Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4943575454776138049.post-30053155997558034822009-07-31T12:51:23.336+04:002009-07-31T12:51:23.336+04:00However, the future is unpredictable, as there are...However, the future is unpredictable, as there are no precedents to help us predict what can happen to the language when it achieves genuine world status.Michaelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4943575454776138049.post-56005697571959775732009-07-31T10:06:04.267+04:002009-07-31T10:06:04.267+04:00There is no reason to believe that any one other l...There is no reason to believe that any one other language will appear within the next 50 years to replace English.
